Ralph Ainscough was the son of Ralph Ainscough (1841) and Ellen Booth. In 1881 he was living at 434 Top Toll Bar in Westhoughton. In 1891 he was working as a coal miner and was living at 256 Chorley Road, Westhoughton. He married Mary Elizabeth Hilton in 1899. In 1901 he was still a miner and was living at 343 Manchester Road, Westhoughton. In 1911 he was living at 10 Albert Street, Warsop, near Mansfield, and working as a miner.
