 Joseph Ainscough was born on 8th April 1891 in Blackrod and was the son of Michael Ainscough (b. 1864) and Elizabeth Moore. In 1891 he was aged 1 and living at 20 Little Scotland, Blackrod. In 1901 he was aged 10 and was living at 12 Off Houghton Street in Hindley. He married Alice Ann Ackers in the Wigan RD 1907.  In 1911 he was living at 61 George Street, Hindley, and working as a coal miner. He died on 31st October 1967.
