Benjamin Ainscough was the son of John Ainscough (1839) and Alice Baines. In 1881 he was living at 2 Little Lane in Pemberton. In 1891 he was single, working as a coal miner and was living with his parents at 171 Enfield Street, Pemberton. He married Mary Alice Woolley in 1891. In 1901 he was living in 50 Rawlinson Lane, Heath Charnock. In 1911 he was living at 50 Ringley Fold in Stoneclough, near Manchester, and working as a colliery under manager. He died in the Heywood RD in 1950, aged 79.
